What are the Tenets of Faith?

Doctrines, Principles or Positions held as true by members of a group or movement.

They are “Principles,Taught or Advanced for Belief” generally adopted by a group or religious organization with written creeds of teachings.

To us in the Living Faith, our tenets of faith is our professed belief as revealed by Bishop David Oyedepo from the breath and depth of scripture via the Holy Ghost.

Below are the Tenets of our Faith

The Scripture
The Bible, made up of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them.

The Godhead
Our God is one but manifests in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit being co-equal (1 John 5:7).

Man, His Fall and Redemption
Man is a created being made in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world.

Eternal Life and The New Birth
Man’s first step towards salvation is godly sorrow that works repentance. The new birth is necessary for all men, and when experienced, it produces eternal life (John 3:3-5; 1 John 5:12; 2 Corinthians 7:10).

The Church
The true Church is composed of all those who are born again. Through new birth, we are united together in the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. Every church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs (Ephesians 4:15-16).

Water Baptism
Baptism by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord, and it is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

Baptism in The Holy Ghost
The baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift by God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt.3:11; Jn.14:16-17)

Sanctification
The Bible teaches that without holiness, no man can see the Lord.

Signs and Wonders
Signs and wonders are the supernatural acts of God that cannot be explained by any natural, human or scientific phenomenon yet cannot be denied (Acts 4:16).

Divine Healing
Divine healing is the supernatural process of recovery from all manner of sicknesses and diseases and restoration of total health.

Resurrection of The Just and Return of Our Lord
This is the bodily resurrection of the dead in Christ to everlasting joy with the Lord and the personal pre-millennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This ‘Blessed Hope’ has a vital bearing on the personal lives and services of believers. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Acts 1:10-11; Revelation 20:6).

Hell and Eternal Retribution
The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopeless and eternally lost in the lake of fire, and has no future hope of hearing the gospel or repenting. The lake of fire is literal.
